TLH HELISKIING

TLH Heliskiing is based at the spectacular timber lodge, Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, located on the shores of Tyaughton Lake, approximately 125 miles (200km) north of Vancouver. It is located only 1 hour from Vancouver and 30 minutes from Whistler by helicopter. And with access to over 300 runs at altitudes of between 914 metres - 2834 metres (3000 feet - 9300 feet), over an area of 336,000 hectares (830,000 acres), you are bound to find terrain to suit every taste, from dry powder tree chutes to wide open glacial runs.

With a choice of  heliskiing packages ranging from shorter 2-day tours through to week long packages, with many of them able to cater to groups of up to 10 people, there are a variety of programs to suit different tastes and budgets. Whether you want a short heliskiing break or the chance to explore the mountains on a week-long adventure, Ski Tours Canada can assist with heliskiing package that's perfect for you and your group.

Thanks to the inclusion of 2 private alpine guides and a pilot on your tour, you will have access to staff with lots of local knowledge and expertise. And with only 2 groups to a helicopter you won't have to wait long at the bottom of a run and will have the freedom to ski at your own pace.

TLH Heliskiing has been in operation since 1991, taking guests on tours in the South Chilcotin Mountains, a transitional zone between the Coastal Mountains and the dry Fraser Plateau in British Columbia, Canada. TLH continually improves and refines its services to give you the best heliskiing experience possible.

LAST FRONTIER HELISKIING

One of the most northerly heliskiing operators in British Columbia, Last Frontier Heliskiing has access to a vast array of challenging terrain over 890,000 hectares (2.2 million acres), covering both the Northern Coastal Mountains and Skeena Mountain Range. Ski on 450 named runs, many of which start high on alpine glaciers and end well below the tree line.

There are 2 accommodation options with Last Frontier Heliskiing - both in Northern British Columbia, not far from Alaska. Bell 2 Lodge is located 220 miles (360 km) northwest of Smithers, and Ripley Creek Inn in the township of Stewart. On this program you will usually ski 10 to 12 runs per day or 20,000-30,000 vertical feet (9200 m).

The amount of heliskiing you do on your tour depends on several factors: your ability and desire to ski, the weather and snow conditions, and the daylight hours available.

While conditions and weather are generally good, if worst comes to worst and the conditions deteriorate, both Last Frontier and TLH heliskiing charge based on the amount of vertical you ski. This means you won't be caught out financially should the conditions be bad, and on the other hand can make the most of excellent conditions by skiing for longer.
