Big White Ski Resort

LESSONS
Make the most of skiing in Big White by taking a lesson with the internationally acclaimed Ski & Snowboard School, which offers both adult and youth ski improvement programs.

Ski Tours Canada, working in conjunction with Big White Ski Resort, can provide fully inclusive programs to include lift tickets, ski lessons and equipment packages. We customise our packages for adults and children, and offer different deals even within one family or group.

We strongly recommend advance bookings for the lesson component of your personalised itinerary, particularly in peak vacation season. We may also be able to assist with some personal recommendations for instructors upon request.

Big White is one of the venues of the Interschools Canada program, which offers holiday and training packages for Australian families, aimed at helping children train for Australian interschool competitions while enjoying an overseas family holiday. Interschools Canada training programs are run at Silver Star and Big White resorts by international ski and snowboard instructors, and are specifically designed to train children competing in Australian interschool snowsport competitions.  Disciplines covered in training include alpine ski racing, skier-cross, moguls, boarder-cross and alpine snowboard. For more information on the Interschools Canada Program, click here.

Ski Canada magazine rated the Big White Kid’s Centre as the “Best Place to be Abandoned by Your Parents” and the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper rated it one of the top five kids centres in the world! It’s the ultimate playground for tots from 18 months through to teenagers. Your kids will be up and going on skis or snowboards in no time. And, as safety is just as important as fun, the Kid’s Centre provides complimentary ski helmets to all children in its care.  The Tot Town Daycare is ideal for the pre-ski child or for the child who does not wish to ski the whole day. Each day at the Tot Town Daycare Centre is unique, exciting and filled with lots of activities and adventures.  Children are kept busy with a mixture of indoor play and (weather permitting) outdoor activities. The Tot Town Daycare Centre is for children aged 18 months to 5 years.

We are excited to offer to our youngest "wannabe" skiers the chance to learn to ski while at daycare. At Daycare Plus, children get all the advantages of Tot Town Daycare (caring and individualised attention, crafts, snacks/lunch, and the important needs, with the added bonus of either a 1-hour private lesson -typically a 8.30-9.30am or 12.00- 1.00pm - or a 2-hour group lesson with other children). Daycare Plus is available to children aged 3 and 4 years.

LIFTS
Big White offers single day, multi day and season lift passes, with lower prices for youths (13-18 years), children (6-12 years) and seniors (65 years +), while children under the age of 5 ski free.

As Big White and Silver Star resorts share the same owner, a regular multi-day lift pass or a Dual Mountain Pass (which costs around 13% more than a regular season pass) allow you to ski both Mountains! Other benefits of holding a Big White season pass include free night skiing, accommodation specials (depending on availability) and discounts on shopping, rentals and repairs, tickets to some other resorts, group and private lessons and new hard goods at resort-owned retail outlets.

The Ski & Snowboard School and Kids Centre have highly trained staff who are perfectly equipped to take you into the $2.5M TELUS Terrain Park: a purpose-built skiing and snowboarding fantasyland where everyone from children to Olympic-calibre athletes can test themselves on a range of terrains, from simple slopes to a 500-foot long World Cup standard Super pipe with 17-foot transitional walls, as well as a half pipe, boarder/skier cross course and a multitude of rails. The whole area is lit for night sessions and serviced by a new double chairlift.
