I've heard the snow in the British Columbian interior is really quite different to other resorts in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Is that so?

Memories

February 2007

On behalf of Helene and myself I would like to thank Ski Tours Canada for our wonderful holiday at Sun Peaks BC. We had a fantastic time the snow condition were the best we have every skied in, we wish we had had more time there.

Air Canada were fantastic and looked after us very well, I have to admit that I was worried about such a long trip in economy on a 767 but we were seated very well and the flight crew were very friendly and helpful. Our accommodation in Vancouver was great and we would recommend it. The Delta Sun Peaks is truly a five star hotel and they looked after us very well, the signature club level is fantastic and we certainly would recommend this as a great place to stay.

Breaking our return trip up in Honolulu was a great idea this made the flight home pleasant and we were much more refreshed upon arrival at home in Sydney only next time we will stay longer.

One of the highlights was Snowmobiling and the other highlight was skiing for two hours with Nancy Green through the trees in knee deep powder and her showing us some great areas that not many people know about. We were amazed that there were no lift queues and that you could be skiing down a run and think that you were the only person on the mountain.

We loved the trip so much that we want to go back again for the same week next January only this time we will take our two boys and we have another family possible two that want to go after what we have told them. This time we would like to stay in one of the mountain homes that are on the run. Please let me know when is the best time to book to take advantage of the best discounts etc.

Once again thank you so much for what was a fantastic holiday and it was like a second honeymoon for Helene and I, we missed the boys, but it was great just the two of us.

Kindest Regards,

Peter & Helene MacMahon

Excellent holiday had by all and it was our intention to write and give you some feedback.

The Handlery was a great hotel due to the location - so close to everything and that is why we chose to stay there as we loved it when we were there two years ago in San Francisco.  Big White was a huge hit with everyone.  We arrived there late afternoon so dark by then and it just looked like a village out of a fairytale.  All the lights on and the snow on the roofs looked like it had all been trimmed with a palette knife. The accommodation was just perfect.  Very comfortable and would definitely recommend to anyone with a family.

New York was fabulous.  Hotel was in a great location and HUGE rooms.  Walked our feet off for five days and just loved the place.  Great weather until the last day when it rained which slowed us down a bit. The cruise was good but to be honest Royal Caribbean did not come anywhere near the level of the Princess cruise we did in Alaska.  The Panama canal was good and we were up at 4.30am to be at the front of the ships to get a good spot as we went through.

All in all a fabulous trip and one we would recommend to anyone.  Almost can't believe we were there now - just as well we have the photos to prove it. Thanks very much for your perseverance with all the changes and all - you did a great job and as I said all went very well.

Regards

Just a quick note to yourself and Sue to thank you for all your organization for our recent holiday.

Everything went like clockwork and we had a wonderful time in Honolulu,Vancouver and Whistler. We have been spreading the good word and I believe you will get word of mouth business from us.

Thank you again

Just a quick note to say thankyou - we had an absolutely fantastic trip.  Everything went well, the only travel-related incident being Air Canada losing our skis on the only leg that mattered - into Kelowna.  They turned up the next day, though, so it was okay.

The accommodation at Big White was great - I'd highly recommend the Sundance Lodge, the amenities are excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the kitchens well-equipped and they even have internal washers and dryers which make a difference.  Everything being new also helped!  It wasn't too far away from the village centre for that to be too big a negative.

We really enjoyed the stop in Hawaii too - it really helped to break up the flying and the jetlag. Thanks so much again for everything.  I'll be in touch in a couple of months for the next one - all things working out we're looking to take a couple of months off from work and spend the entire ski season at Sun Peaks next year (we're addicted to these trips now!).  If you have any tips on how to get good long-term rental accommodation for the season I'd be most interested.

Dear Heidi,

What a fabulous holiday we had in Canada and Hawaii.

Suzanne and I would like to thank, you and your staff so much for making this trip absolutely wonderful. We had the best time ever, the skiing was awesome. It was a great surprise at Big White to get a knock on the door and be greeted with a bottle of wine and card from your company, thank you.

We were so lucky with the weather, we seemed to miss the bad storms in Vancouver by 2-3 days and it seemed that way where ever we went. We shopped a lot in Vancouver, skied Grouse Mountain and did all the tourist things. Day trip a Whistler started with sunny sky's until 1pm when the weather turned nasty and extremely cold and unfortunately we weren't wearing our whole suitcase (snowed heavily in the afternoon) so off went the skis and headed indoors to all the shops - great day!

I found wearing one spencer, one skivvy and jacket was not enough, by the time we arrived in Big White (which was the coldest) I was wearing 3 spencers, one skivvy, one polo fleece and jacket plus 2 pairs of leggings, toe warmers and hand warmers, I've never worn that much in my life but I was able to stay out all day and only come in for a quick lunch. (Lifts open a 8am and finish by 3/3.30pm - short skiing time).Suzanne and I can't believe how long the runs are - some are 7km we were stopping often, so the legs could rest.

Love Silver Star not as cold as Big White, I'm convinced their green runs are our blue runs & their blue are our black runs in Australia. Suzanne found their blue runs were very steep (which scared her) and most of them were to difficult for her so she stayed on the green. I loved the blue runs and did some black (mogul city!!). Rest day at Silver Star was ice skating (2hrs), tubing (2hrs), sleigh ride (1hr) and followed by the best 2 hour ski doo ride over the entire resort mountain absolutely awesome because it was only the tour guide, Suzanne & I (we were flying up and down the groomed runs as fast as we could go) and the ski doo's were BMW bikes and the tour guide had a Ferrari, so we had race with him and he give us a head start and past us as if we were standing still. (absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

At Big White on our rest day we did a 2 hour ski doo ride cross country in Happy Valley area (11-1pm) which was totally different to Silver Star because the bikes were 2 stroke Suzuki's and cross country fresh snow, we also started with 3 other people in our tour for the first hour and they were slow!!! once they left the last hour was awesome. Straight after the ride I had a 2 hour private lesson on snowboarding (1.30-3.30pm) I had never tried snowboarding before, the pain in my legs to start with was tough.

Suzanne had a 1 hour full body massage, which I should of had the next day as my whole body was aching, but we had 2 days of skiing to go before we left Canada. The timing was perfect at Big White they had Cruz the Blues Weekend, which you signed in for to get a free tee shirt at the end of the second day of skiing. Suzanne started with me on the blue runs but decided to continue with the green runs so I took her passport and skied 17 runs on the Saturday and 20 runs on the Sunday, missed one run as it was closed to a ski race, so everyone who participated skied 37/38 run that weekend, I had the best time trying to find the sign and stamping both passports halfway down the run to know you completed the run (some runs I couldn't find the sign and had to go down a second time).

I was completely stuffed after the ski trip and Hawaii was the biggest rest to unwind and lose all the aches except my knees they are still recovering now from old injury when I was a gymnast - bad knees!!! But it won't stop me skiing.

Skiing in Australia is not going to be the same - I want snow and runs like Canada!!! Love Canada, we will be back in the near future to try out other ski mountains for sure.

So once again Heidi, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ORGANISING OUR FANTASTIC HOLIDAY.

Kind Regards

Tracy & Suzanne

We have just arrived back from our holiday to Big White and Sun Peaks. Everything went really well and all arrangements went as planned with no hiccups whatsoever.

The accomodation was good and the skiing was excellent (plenty of snow and no crowds).

Thanks for organising a great holiday.
