Summer Concert Series begins this Weekend!

Sun Peaks, BC June 26, 2007 - The Summer Concert Series makes its debut this weekend at Sun Peaks and is dubbed the “Tribute Band Weekend”.  With everything from, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Beatles and more this will be a weekend filled with all the classics.  Be sure to stop by the stage in the village centre under the clock tower.

From July 13 – 15, the Summer Concert Series presents Women in Music.  A weekend celebrating the contribution and influence women have made toward music. Three vibrant female vocalists will take to the stage to deliver amazing performances in true female fashion.  Tracy Saxby, Rose Ranger and Roxanne Hall will make the mountains sing with their great variety of folk, story-telling and inspired lyrics to bring a weekend of music no one should miss.

 

 

Back by popular demand, Music in the Mountains, will take place from July 21-22, as Sun Peaks becomes home to the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra. Performances ranging from Brass, Woodwind, Piano and more will be found throughout the Village.  On Saturday and Sunday special performances at the Sunburst restaurant will take place in conjunction with a Salmon BBQ.  Tickets for this event can be purchased through Guest Services at 250-578-5474.  This weekend of music coincides with the beginning of the Alpine Blossom season. 

 

 

Rock ‘n’ Ska weekend, takes place from Aug 3-5 and will feature three great bands, the Mellowmanics, Fuzzat and Lotus Child.  If you are looking for great music and an even better delivery be sure to check out the acts during the weekend.

 

 

Folk’n’Funk is the theme for the Aug 10-12th weekend.  A variety of bands will be playing all weekend long delivering groovy bass lines and mellow acoustic folk.  A special performance will take place on August 11th from 5:30 – 7:00pm on the Masa’s patio. 

 

 

A tribute to International Music complete the Summer Concert Series from August 31 – September 2nd.  Sure to be one of the most unique musical weekends throughout the summer Shane Phillips and Boris will bring you music with a worldly feel as melodies from around the globe fill the Village.
