22 Day Rockies Explorer & Alaskan Cruise

Day 1. Home Port - Vancouver - Join flight to Vancouver where you will be met and transferred to your Fairmont Vancouver Hotel. 

Day 2. Vancouver - Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver including the waterfront, Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park and Granville Island. 

Day 3. The Rocky Mountaineer Train - Kamloops - Transfer to the railroad station for 2 days enjoying "the Most Spectacular Train Ride in the World". Relax in your Goldleaf carriage and experience unsurpassed levels of Dome Car service. Enter the Fraser Valley and follow the Thompson River towards the township of Kamloops. 

Day 4. The Rocky Mountaineer - Banff - Transfer back to Kamloops station and continue your journey east into the spectacular Rocky Mountains. Marvel at the glaciers and snow-capped mountains of Rogers Pass and Kicking Horse Pass.

Day 5. Banff - This morning choose one of the following freechoice activities included in your tour: Guided nature hike with an expert naturalist, 9 holes of golf at Banff Springs Hotel, A gondola ride up Sulpher Mountain, A float trip on the Bow River, or Horse Riding along the Bow River.

Day 6. Emerald Lake - Lake Louise - After a relaxed morning cointinue to the glacier fed Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge. Early afternoon arrive into stunning Lake Louise, Canada's "Diamond in the Wilderness".

Day 7. Peyto Lake - Athabasca Falls & Glacier - Jasper National Park - Travel north today along the incredible Icefields Parkway, acclaimed as one of the most spectacular journeys in the world. Stop at the columbia Icefield, where you will take the "Ice Explorer" onto the mighty Athabasca Glacier, before arriving in Jasper for the night.

Day 8. Jasper - This morning choose one of the following freechoice activities including: Guided walk on the "Path of the Glacier" up Mount Edith Cavell, A nature walk from the top of Maligne Canyon and a scenic drive up the vally to the spectacular Maligne Lake and Medicine Lake, Canoe on a Pyramid Lake with an experienced guide, Rafting down the Athabasca River, Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island, or Miette Hot Springs and wildlife tour. 

Day 9. Cariboo Mountains - Sun Peaks - Depart Jasper and soon you will find yourself standing at the base of awesome 3,954m Mt Robson. Continue past the early trading settlements of Tete Jaune, Cache and into the Cariboo Mountains region. Follow the Thompson River to the scenic resort of Sun Peaks. Enjoy evening dinner and a historic look into the fur trading industry and life as a pioneer.

Day 10. Whistler - Visit historic Hat Creek Ranch and then pass through the towns of Cache Creek and Lillooet. Continue to Whistler Village with time to explore the village's cobbled pathways and plazas. In the evening step into the world of the Black Bear with Michael Allen a world leader in Black Bear Research. 

Day 11. Cheakamus Canyon - Howe Sound - Victoria - Travel south along the Sea to Sky Highway before boarding a ferry and a cruise through the Georgia Strait to British Columbia's beautiful Capital city of Victoria. 

Day 12. Victoria - Visit the world famous Butchart Gardens with the spectacular Japanses, Italian and Rose Gardens.

Day 13. Vancouver - Alaskan Cruise - Transfer by ferry to the mainland to join your luxurious cruise ship for a 7 night voyage through the famed Inside Passage to Alaska. 

Day 14. Crusing the Inside Passage - Spend the entire day crusing the Inside Passage passing forests of spruce and hemlock, mountains, islands and inlets.

Day 15. Juneau, Alaska's Capital - Arrive into Alaska's scenic capital of Juneau and learn about the city's Gold Rush history. Drop into the Red Dog Saloon or visit the fascinating Alaska State Museum. 

Day 16. Skagway - Sail into Skagway with plenty of free time to go ashore and stroll the weathered boardwalks and false-fronted buildings as you step back into the days of 1898.

Day 17. Tracy Arm or Glacier Bay - Today your cruise ship enters either Tracy Arm or Glacier Bay (depending on your ship and departure date). Tracy Arm is one of Alaska's most spectacular glacier fjords containing the mightly Sawyer Glacier, while Glacier Bay houses some 13 tidal glaciers.

Day 18. Ketchikan - Arrive into picturesque Ketchikan. Take the opportunity to visit Totem Bight State Park and walk through the forest to a replica Tlingit Indian Village. 

Day 19. The Inside Passage - A relaxing day as you travel south through the Inside Passage shaped by glaciers millions of years ago.

Day 20. Vancouver - Disembark early this morning and transfer to Vancouver Airport to board your homeward flight. 

Day 21. Cross International Dateline - In flight, cross the international dateline.

Day 22. Arrive Home Port - Your tour finishes upon arrival into your home port. The end of an unforgettable journey.
