24 Day Rockies & Voyage of the Glaciers
Day 1. Home Port - Victoria - Join flight to Vancouver, cross the International Dateline and arrive in Vancouver where you will connect for a flight to Victoria. Tonight enjoy a "Welcome to Canada" reception and dinner.
Day 2. Victoria - Butchart Gardens - This morning visit the world famous Butchart Gardens for 22 ha of floral displays. In the afternoon choose one of the following freechoice activities including: A guided walk through Victoria with Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress, A horse and carriage tour, Salmon fishing, Whale Watching in a comfortable covered boat or in an inflatable high speed Zodiac boat, A scenic floatplane flight over the inner harbour or explore Victoria's historical past.
Day 3. Howe Sound - Whistler Village - After breakfast cross to the mainland via ferry. Enroute to Whislter stope to view the awesome Shannon Falls. Then step into the world of the Black Bear with Michael Allen.
Day 4. Hat Creek Ranch - Sun Peaks - Visit Historical Hat Creek Ranch and learn about the Shuswap peoples, then continue to Sun Peaks.
Day 5. Cariboo Mountains - Jasper National Park - Travel through BC's Cariboo regions, stand at the base of awesome Mt Robson before arriving into Jasper.
Day 6. Glacier "Ice Explorer" - Lake Louise - This morning enjoy a guided walk down Maligne canyon. Continue south and enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery along the Icefields Parkway. Stop at the Columbia Icefield where you wil board the "Ice Explorer" and drive onto the mighty Athabasca Glacier.
Day 7. Emerald Lake - Banff - Enjoy a relaxing morning before visiting Emerald Lake and Natural Bridge enroute to the township of Banff. On arrival you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the town.
Day 8. Banff - Choose from the freechoice activities today including: A guided nature hike, 9 holes of golf at Banff Springs Hotel, A gondola ride up Sulpher Mountain, A float trip on the Bow River or Horse riding along the Bow River.
Day 9. The Rocky Mountaineer Train - Kamloops - Early morning transfers to Banff Railroad Station for a 2 day rail experience on the "Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World". Relax in your GoldLeaf carriage as you cross Kicking Horse Pass and view the glaciers and snowcapped mountains of Rogers Pass before arriving in Kamloops.
Day 10. The Rocky Mountaineer - Vancouver - Transfer back to the Rocky Mountaineer to continue your journey west. Follow the Thompson River and pass through the magnificent Fraser Canyon and Fraser River Valley before arriving in Vancouver.
Day 11. Vancouver - 7 Night Cruise - Enjoy a leisurely morning before transferring to your cruise ship for your 7 night voyage through the Inside Passage and head north to Alaska.
Day 12. Crusing the Inside Passage - Cruise through one of the world's most spectacular waterways as you pass forests, mountains, islands and inlets.
Day 13. Ketchikan - Arrive into picturesque Ketchikan. Take the opportunity to visit Totem Bight State Park and walk through the forest to a replica of a Tlingit Indian Village (shore excursions are at own expense).
Day 14 - Juneau, Alaska's Capital - Early this afternoon you will arrive in Juneau, Alaska's scenic capital city. Lear the city's Gold Rush story, drop into the Red Dog Saloon or visit the fascinating Alaska State Museum (shore excursions are at own expense).
Day 15 - Skagway - Sail into Skagway with plenty of time to go ashore and stroll the weathered boardwalks as you step back into the days of 1898.
Day 16 - Spectacular Glacier Bay - This morning cruise into Glacier Bay National Park and Reserve, and experience 13 spectacular glaciers. A Ranger onboard will help you spot wildlife and explain glacier activity.
Day 17 - College Fjord - Prince William Sound - Prince William Sound is indented with dozens of glacier-carved fjords. Within the sound lies College Fjord, home to 16 glaciers.
Day 18 - Whittier - Anchorage - Mt McKinley - Arrive into Whittier and disembark, travel via the Alaska Wildlife Refuge to Anchorage. Time to explore the Anchorage Markets (subject to operation) before continuing to Wassila, starting point for the annual Iditarod Dog-Sledding Race. Continue to magnificent Mt McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, showcasing unparalleled views of Mt McKinley, the hightest point in all of North America.
Day 19 - Midnight Sun Express Railway Journey - Denali National Park - Breakfast, then board the Midnight Sun Express. Enjoy impeccable service in your full-dome railcar and stunning views of Mt McKinley as you travel towards Denali National Park.
Day 20 - Denali National Park - Choose one from the following freechoice activities: Comprehensive Tundra Wilderness Tour, Natural History Tour of Denali National Park, Rafting down the Nenana River, Visit the homestead of three time Itidarod champion and meet his champion sled dogs.
Day 21 - Fairbanks - Riverboat Cruise - This morning depart Denali for Fairbanks, on arrival board a sternwheeler riverboat cruise down the Chena and Tenana Rivers.
Day 22 - Fairbanks - Breakfast and then transfer to Fairbanks Airport to board your homeward flight.
Day 23 - Cross International Dateline - In flight, cross the International Dateline.
Day 24 - Arrive Home Port - Tour ends upon arrival - the end of an exciting tour.
ARCTIC CIRCLE EXTENSION
Day 22 - Scenic Arctic Circle Flight - This morning fly north wonder at the vast and remote land below. Cross the Arctic Circle and land on the banks of the Yukon River and visit the native village of Fort Yukon. Receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate and learn the fascinating story.
Day 23 - Fairbanks - Transfer for your homeward flight.
Day 24 - Cross International Dateline - In flight, cross the International Dateline.
Day 25 - Arrive Home Port - Tour ends upon arrival.
