Little has changed on this island since Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote the Anne of Green Gables books. Prince Edward Island is the smallest of the Canadian provinces and possibly the most laid back.

Charlottetown is the provincial capital and a quaint country town. A walk around Queen Street and the waterfront reveals many renovated buildings with plaques outlining their history.

Prince Edward Island National Park is not suprisingly one of the nation's smallest, but this does not mean it is any less spectacular. With a coastline of sand dunes, sand beaches and red sandstone cliffs this park is worth a visit.

House of Green Gables is one of the most popular attractions in the province. Known as the home of the heroine of Montgomery's books this is a favorite destination for visitors across the globe.
