Edmonton
Edmonton is the capital of Alberta and sits on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. It is well known for its scenic beauty as much as it is recognised for its festivals, shopping and entertainment. Visitors are attracted to Edmonton due to its proximity to Jasper and other national parks, its attractions and it being the gateway to the far north of Canada.
Edmonton was Canada's Cultural Capital for 2007.

The Alberta Legislature
On the site of the original Fort Edmonton is this beautiful Edwardian building from 1912. Surrounded by fountains, beautiful lawns and overlooking the river, its dome has remained one of Edmonton's prime landmarks.
Edmonton Space & Science Centre
With the largest planetarium in Canada the Edmonton Telus World of Science Centre offers galleries and exhibitions on all things space. There are IMAX screens, laser shows, presentations and the Bruderheim Meteorite. This fell near Edmonton in 1960 and is about as old as the Solar System, coming in at 4.6 billion years old.
